A blog about the navies of the Civil War, living history, and much more; basically whatever historical topics cross my mind. And obviously some miscellaneous stuff too!

New Blog of NC Civil War Interest
Someone emailed a link today for a new blog devoted to the Battle of Newport Barracks and other miscellaneous NC Civil War topics. I met the author, Eric Lindblade, a summer or two ago when he served (briefly) as the Summer Historian at Fort Macon State Park. I add the "briefly" in there because he didn't finish out the summer at the park, but rather took another job somewhere else. Oh well, you win some, you lose some, I guess. Anyway, his blog looks interesting and I'm adding it to my blogroll. Take a look when you get a chance.

Andrew,
Thanks for the tip. I liked the account of Newport Barracks in Wickman's regimental history of the 9th Vermont. I hope Mr. Lindblade does eventually get his book published.
Thanks for the kind words on the blog and adding it to your links.

Eric,
Nice to hear from you, and I hope all's well in Gettysburg. What are you doing these days aside from being an author? You'll notice a comment here from Drew Wagenhoffer above yours. Drew writes the blog Civil War Books and Authors (listed on my blogroll). You should definitely make sure he gets a review copy of your book when it is finished. Also, don't know if you angling for an academic press or not, but Dram Tree Books, a local press in Wilmington is always looking for local and regional history for publication. Jack Fryar is the publisher and I can put you in touch with him if you like. Jack's a great guy and usually get books in print fairly quickly. One of his most recent is a book by David Norris on Potter's Raid, which I imagine is very similar to what your book will be like. Anyway, food for thought.
Andrew,
I sent you an email in regards to more information on that. I would be interested in getting in touch with him.
-Eric
